Mother's, weeds & undiscovered virtues...

Well, once again I find myself way behind on posts. I have so much to write about, so many pictures to share and unfortunately, not enough time right now to share them all! So, for today, I'll just quickly share the most important event of the past week ~ Mother's Day! Then I'll share few collages of my latest nature pictures.

Our Mother's Day weekend was filled with family time. Jack's Mom and Dad stopped by our house Saturday morning on their way to Palestine, Texas to visit with Mimi (Jack's Grandma/Cami's Mom) for Mother's Day.

It was a short visit, but we enjoyed it very much! ~ What a special Mom! We hope this gift made her feel as special as she is! After Church on Sunday we headed to my Mom's to celebrate Mother's Day. My Aunt Edna flew in from Mobile, Alabama around 4pm that afternoon and so we where able to visit with her a lot.

As usual, my Mom and Dad fixed a huge, scrumbdelicious dinner! We all hung out in the kitchen laughin' and cuttin' up for hours!

~I think my Mom enjoyed her Mother's Day and I'm so glad because she deserves it! I'm also glad that my Aunt Edna (who is a Mom too) could come visit and be here on this special day!

My Mother's Day weekend ended on a sweet note... ~with one of my favorite desserts!

Last week was my last week of school for the semester, so I have had a lot of extra time to get out and take pictures.

~ Two of our bushes in the front yard have produced loads of beautiful tiny white flowers and to my absolute joy, the butterflies love them!

~ The bee's love them too!

~A butterfly resting on our Crape Myrtle Tree. ~The cacti have finally bloomed! I've been waiting on them for a few weeks. I was able to get these pictures on Mother's Day....guess it's my gift from Mother Nature. ~a piece of dead wood surrounded by weeds.

~ These are growing wild on my parent's land. It's just a weed, but it looks a lot like an orchid to me.

~A beautiful plant and flower combination put together by my Mom.
~ A weed that sort of looks like a Bluebonnet or some sort of Lupin.

~ A thistle before bloom and after. I know they're just weeds, but I think they are beautiful! So beautiful in fact, that our new blog banner, as you may have noticed, is a picture of a thistle.

~ These flowers grow up on a single stalk and the blooms are in the form of a circle - they look like a perfectly arranged bouquet of flowers. Very pretty! The Eastern Tailed Blue butterfly seems to love them!

What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
